Travelling abroad exposes you to a number of diseases which are far less common or non existent in the UK. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office currently advise that you seek specialist medical advice at least six weeks before you intend to travel to check what medication or other preventative measures you may need to help keep you safe overseas.
