What is it?
Yellow fever is spread by mosquito bites. It is a serious often fatal illness. Vaccination is recommended for those who travel into risk areas. Many countries require a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate for entry.
Yellow Fever vaccine is a live immunisation. If you require other live vaccinations such as Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR), Varicella (Chicken Pox) or a BCG, then Yellow Fever vaccine must be given on the same day or separated by 4 weeks.
Sussex Travel Clinic is a registered Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre.

UK Yellow Fever Vaccine Shortage
‘ There is currently a UK wide shortage of Yellow Fever vaccine and we have been informed by our current suppliers that single dose Yellow Fever vaccine will be out of stock until January 2014. Sussex Travel Clinic has managed to source a supply of ‘unlicensed’ multi-dose vials of Sanofi Pasteur Yellow Fever vaccine. We will be running Yellow Fever clinics on the following days from 11/11/2013 – Mondays at our Hove clinic and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at our Worthing clinic’
The following information is taken from the Nathnac website:
‘In the UK, all medicines must have a valid marketing authority (Product License), which indicates that the product has met the standards required by the UK licensing authority. In situations where there is no such product available (in this context, yellow fever vaccine), those with an appropriate license (i.e. wholesale dealer or manufacturer license) can apply to the MHRA for a special license to import and supply an unlicensed relevant medical product (i.e. yellow fever vaccine) to fulfil special clinical needs of individual patients.’
The vaccines we are using are imported from Europe and have product licenses in the country they are manufactured in and MRHA approval.
PLEASE NOTE: YELLOW FEVER VACCINES CANNOT BE BOOKED ONLINE- Please call the clinic to book – Hove- 01273 749100 or Worthing- 01903 254774.
